Terms and Conditions

Order
By accepting the seller’s quotation, the buyer accepts all specifications/prices enclosed within the seller’s quotation.

Cancellations or amendments
The buyer understands that all Shutter Me Up products are bespoke and made to order and the suppliers work to tight schedules. Therefore, if the order cannot be cancelled with the buyer’s supplier the seller accepts there will be a 100% charge for each product unable to be cancelled. The buyer also accepts that the order cannot be amended after placing of order. The buyer understands that they will not be able to return the products after delivery unless the product has been confirmed as defective by Shutter Me Up.

Delivery dates
The buyer understands that delivery dates are given in good faith, these are approximate at the time of placing an order and that variations may occur. Express lead time approx. 10-12 weeks with standard estimated at 12-16 weeks. All delivery dates are an estimate only and cannot be guaranteed. Shutter Me Up cannot be held liable for any delays beyond our control and we therefore cannot accept responsibility for any consequential loss.

Delivery access and installation

Once the goods have been delivered installation will be scheduled for the next available date. The seller is not responsible to hold any orders longer that 14 days from arrival of goods into the studio due to the buyers wishes. If the seller has to retain goods for longer than 14 days then the warranty may be void and there will be an additional storage fee of £100.

Delivery of large poles and shutters can be difficult in some homes. The seller’s team are trained to install products successfully, but it is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure easy access to the room where installation is required. Therefore, please ensure there is sufficient room left in front of the windows to enable the shutters to be assembled and fitted, also that they will fit through any passage, stairwells, landings, doorways and gates enroute to the room. Prior to delivery, please ensure the route is clear and free from obstructions such as pictures and ornaments, the seller will not be held responsible for damages caused as a result from not clearing cills and areas in front of the windows and enroute to the room. The buyer agrees that any aborted visits through no fault of Shutter Me Up will result in a charge. The seller’s team will take every precaution not to cause accidental scuff or marks to paintwork when transporting boxes and tools into the buyer’s home. However, the seller will not be held liable for any accidental damage. The buyer may have to touch up paintwork on completion as the team do not carry out any plastering or decorating as part of the order.
The seller will use their best judgement to avoid any hidden services within the wall and again rely on the buyer’s knowledge of their home to best advice before drilling. The seller will not be held responsible should they accidentally hit a service eg water/electricity or gas or cables.

Should any works be undertaken to the measured areas the buyer will be responsible for the cost of any subsequent labour and/or materials to modify shutters where possible. Where not possible the buyer is responsible for any replacement deemed necessary to fit the revised window area. No rebates will be provided by the seller for those shutters unable to fit modified areas.

It is also the buyer’s responsibility to remove any obstructing services and BT points that may obstruct fitting. This will be advised on survey.

Any existing blinds/curtains are the buyer’s responsibility to remove prior to installation. If existing blinds/curtains are not removed and our fitters deem it necessary to remove themselves there will be a nominal charge of £50 and the seller will not be held liable for any damages/marks due to the removal process e.g., screw holes/scuff marks/cracks/plaster damage.

  1. Payment
Once the quoted price has been agreed upon 50% of total cost is to be paid with placement of order and the remaining 50% on arrival of goods into studio. The buyer is responsible to be present to sign off on all works on day of completion. The buyer will become the owner of the goods (and liable for loss and destruction of the goods) at the time of fitting and only once Shutter Me Up have received full payment of the goods.

  2. Our Guarantee

Where the goods have been manufactured by the Seller and are found to be defective, the Seller shall repair or in its sole discretion, replace defective Goods free of charge upon the following conditions:
